Ah, it is a tricky time of the year, long days turning into night, very long nights. Sleep is a rare commodity. We must read, comment and mark papers, essays mostly in my case, for our students. We are also thick in the exam season where I hold two hour workshops for students to do their final papers.
This morning I was up early, even before the kookaburras, even before breakfast radio presenters. After about three hours sleep, it was a 2.00am start to the day. The kookas chimed in around 4.30, and then a little while later, sat and watched the sunrise.
