An ordinary, stock standard work day of sorts today. Leave early, crowded train, interesting class, lunchtime meeting...
Then back to the office, settle into the desk and...then it starts. The rocking and the swaying and because I'd reached my office on the tenth floor, it was mostly the swaying that I felt as the earthquake rumbled its way below us.
That's second one in three days, which is sort of better than nothing for a long time as these things go. And that's just how they happen...no early warning, nothing out of the ordinary, just a normal average day.

A lot of time, money and research goes into predicting earthquakes but it seems pretty hard, we just have to live with their unpredictability.
But as someone commented today, if the big tsunami comes in from the Bay, I'll have a rather excellent seat in the house to capture the action live...you'll see it first, on twitter.
