That's what happened today. Off I went to work, to go to the office to do some catch-up and planning, perhaps a bit of writing.
But the gates were locked! Shut! Closed!
Well, it was day four in the current series of holidays, but still, I didn't expect the gates to be closed.
That meant a quick change of plan--head home. But before that, the university is in a part of the city where there is always something going on, on weekends or holidays, and today being a holiday, there was stuff going on all over the place.
Over at Odaiba (closer to the wheel) was a large latin American festival (yesterday Germany, today South America ...who needs to travel?) ...
Locked out of the office, it was lunch under the new leaves on the trees |
The wheel, hidden |
A Japanese-Latin band |
Waiting |
Strumming |
The Cinco De Mayo festival |
And the moon jumped over the wheel |
Hot in the city |
Weedy flowers |
Cherries on the tree at the university's (locked) gate |
And that's a wrap |
And the moon followed me all the way home |
Closer to the station, a series of school bands entertaining the crowds (although, I reached them just as they were finishing up).
And although my newfound gym has also been closed for the last few days, I managed over 15,000 steps walking from one end of the port area to the other (and back again). Perhaps I just need more holidays!
