Day 254: Long service leave...

Day 254: ...for dummies

Yes, dear reader, I need one of those simplified 'how to enjoy your long service leave without working'-type of books. After yesterday's catch-up on odd jobs, today I felt I had to get back to work. And I did. Reading, a bit more writing, more reading before I attend a specialist Asian Studies panel in town this evening...

But I am trying. And today I did find some time to head outside to take photos (and do a set or two of tai chi), so that sort of counts I suppose. Even if they are variations on the usual backyard themes?

It was a lovely bluesky day again, the azaleas were marvellous, the neighbour's flowers offered a richly textured pic and for just the briefest moment in time, the kooka and the miner seemed to have a shared interest in something, rather than trying to annoy the heck out of each other. A brief truce in hostilities.

Hanging out on the clothesline

A neighbourly flower

More azalea light and shade

A temporary truce: See that? See what?

Flowering gums...this is Oz.

On reflection, perhaps it's not a bad way to spend your leave.
