Or, just another day portside.
A delayed start to the day today. Should I dart down the coast to catch up with the women's surf club before the season starts (for research purposes of course); should I just head into work as planned and get the week's classes prepared (for teaching purposes of course); in the end, teaching won out over research, such is the modern academic's life. There is always the weekend for research.
And so what appeared to be just another day at the port...
Clear skies, clear waters |
Turned out, the research ship was leaving port today after several days and then other craft set off and converged in a kind of interesting pattern.
A blast from the horn... |
...and it pulled out |
into the port |
Followed by the barge |
Hanging a left |
And then there was another one |
And it opened the throttle |
And the appeared to chase |
And converge |
And hang left |
And then... ...they were gone |
And then it was done. Research, work, teaching---converging. Hmm, it could happen.
