... we're not going anywhere... (93/365, 3 Apr 2022)
And today, quite literally, I did not go anywhere. Not a great endorsement of my plans to go hither and thither as the countdown to home continues but as much as I wanted to go places, the rain, and the cold, put a halt to that. When I say rain, I mean nothing of the type striking Australia's east coast at the moment. No, this is just drizzly sort of rain, just enough to require a brolly, which is just enough to make photographing things a bit tricky. The temperature didn't reach double figures either.
So I didn't go out to buy the paper; nor did I go to the supermarket that specialises in coffee (and stocks Vegemite) that I head to once a week or so; I declined the idea to go and see the bread and speciality coffee fair at the department store down the track; it also meant, as much as I thought about all the reasons I should go to my new found little pub a short bus ride away, even that was not enough to shift me from the lounge.
On days like this, I'm grateful for the long telephoto lens. Today as I looked out from the balcony, the sakura trees (all but one) across in the park, which I took yesterday, looked like they were up for their last little blush of pink. I expect, much of what we saw today, will be on the ground tomorrow, but that in itself can be a sight to see. (Although, rain is also forecast for tomorrow, the day scheduled for welcoming new students...let's see.)
The tree that I see from the door too, host of birds at times, looked to be holding up for its final days. But there will be more flowers to photograph...we are really just getting started.
Today, the Canon EOS 90D, 70-300mm lens at 300mm.
