Day 40: A big Greek lunch...

Day 40: ...and a visit to Mum's place

Sunday, and with no other pressing commitments, time I headed to the South Coast to visit mum. A little overcast for most of the day but early on I caught a bit of sunlight on one of the flowers that features here from time-to-time, the aphelandra squarrosa.  Pretty.

Sunlight
It was one of those nice days to visit, no particular plans except for heading to a newly opened Greek restaurant not far from mum's place. Turns out, mum hasn't eaten much in the way of Greek cuisine, so we thought we'd give it a try. (I, on the other hand, have a serious weakness for haloumi cheese...) It was excellent and mum very much enjoyed it. We shall no doubt return.

The rest of the day was a bit of a wander around the shops, a gallery and a visit to her friends' place. They have quite a spectacular fish tank, with coral...I couldn't help but keep the beach theme from a few days ago. Delightful.

Coral...and Nemo

Meanwhile, we await a final, formal result for Griffith. It looks like the ALP has won, but the LNP won't concede pending the counting of postal ballots. In between haloumi, BBQ octopus and whitebait washed down with Greek beer...I've been giving this some thought. I'll see you over at the other blog, psephy's~ologies, shortly.
