Day 305.5: ...do as the northerners do
So there were just a few too many opportunities to cram into two regular daily posts. Japan does 'cultural' events very well and there is always a variation on the theme when you had to the regions. Like any university, AIU was prepared to put on a 'cultural display' for visitors. There are a couple of videos* and pics of Japanese attention to detail I thought worth sharing.

I'm going to return to my taiko (drumming lessons) in the new year, come what may (just minus the costume, perhaps...).

We were treated to a very pleasant and commemorative day, even if the weather was a little reluctant to do its part.
