Day 13 2015: Back to basics...

Day 13: ...a return to first principles

More rain (good, I guess) which meant more outdoor chores were put aside for another day. Helpful really. I have a study to transform before work starts again so it was good weather for ducks and for getting some stuff sorted. De-clutter might be the word for today.

I did manage to finally get the rain gauge up during a brief respite from the rain and (in weather reporter voice) "in the seven hours to 5.00pm, there were 2mm of rain" in the gauge. I dare say it is working.

The coucals (yes, plural) were back but not feeling terribly photogenic.  In the meantime, the lenses found a couple or three little moments in the garden today.

It was like getting back to the first principles, the idea behind this series of posts, before all the exciting photographs got in the way...just noticing the little things like:

A rose and its petals

A raindrop (or two)

Cobwebs between the frangipanis

It was a nice break from the de-clutter.

Oh, and yesterday's not spider, not scorpion creature? Turns out, it is a female scorpion spider. Waddya know...
