Day 31 2015: #qldvotes...

Day 31: ...and voted and voted and...

Apologies dear reader but hereafter follows a post which captures all that I do, just about, except for the music I suppose. But today was election day in Queensland and, after a short time spent watching the first play of the 2015 season, it was off to the ABC. We were part of a 'Social Media Lounge', political and social media types gathered in one spot to follow and tweet the whole event.

Voters await? Shadow powerbrokers? #qldvotes

Now, I'll keep the political commentary to a minimum here and will have more to say over at the other blog soon. But tonight, it looks like a change of government (which for all sorts of psephological reasons intrigues) and so it was interesting to track that via the camera lens (and the laptop, and the phone, and the tablet device...nothing was left to chance).

The set up was the TV set at one end, radio (my preferred medium) set up in another part and the SocMedLounge at the other end. Saw the psephological saint AntonyGreen from a foyer-length distance but we got to work up close with the radio gang.

For the last two or three elections, I've sat in the Tally Room and watched events unfold there. And if it were still around I'd still go there...but only if I couldn't get to the ABC. Talk about psephy heaven.

My thanks to tweepster mate @snoozen for inviting me along for one of the coveted 20 seats. It was great to be there. And bravo to the ABC team--bang on the money again when it comes to innovation and showing us why it is #ourABC.
