Day 60 2015: When tomorrow comes...

Day 60: ...a day looking back, and forward

Tomorrow, we start all over again. The semester has arrived, in real time, and classes proper start, for me, at 9.00am. That means on Sundays, from here on in, there will be notes to finalise (it's a course on contemporary Japan so adjustments will need to be made right up until the last minute).

There's always the interest in meeting and greeting new students, learning of their motivations and aspirations. There will be interesting moments with the new technology which has replaced the old, perfectly fine technology, and all the expectations that go with that.

But today was about catching up with what I would have been doing yesterday if I hadn't been out playing clarinets at Crow's Nest. I had a play to attend, an old favourite TV show now made for the stage, 'Mother and Son'. Some things age well, some things, perhaps less so.

But any excuse for a wander around the South Bank precinct before and after. And it was a South Bank being a little more demure than usual, good time to see what we don't normally notice.

Now, it's back to work and new semester.
