Day 73 2015: A laugh, a smile...

Day 73: ...all the way to a Zarathrustian Space Odyssey

Saturday, no rehearsal today but a concert tonight (as audience) and a concert tomorrow (as player) and a visit to mum. It's her birthday. So it is an early start, not just for me but the kookas in the backyard and there's not much that is much more 'Good Morning Australia' than a kooka landing on the Hills Hoist.

But wait
Or flying hither and thither, looking curiouser and curiouser...
What's this all about then?
Of course the loris were soon content...

Seedings
And a lovely day was had by all. Well mum and I at least. We went to a nice restaurant near the Gold Coast Broadwater (perfect pelican pics, if I'd had my cam), after I gave her the lovely flowers and artwork from my local florist/artist. Not only can she arrange the most beautiful flowers beautifully, but she paints as well.

Lilies, roses and waratahs
The waratah was just perfect. Mum liked it.

This is what a Colombian rose looks like, close up
I also think it is what the opening note of the Strauss does too

Home again and out again for the first QSO concert of the year: Peer Gynt, a little Sibelius and Richard Strauss' Also Spake Zarathrustra, the one with the magical organ start...you might know it from the theme to the film 2001: A Space Oydessy...yep, that one.

The Concert Hall really moved. No, really. It is one heck of a note.
