Saturday. Luckily for Monday to Friday working people, there are banks and post offices open on Saturdays to go and do business. And ye olde telecom shoppe. Yes, dear reader, it was one of those mornings, where much had to be done to the exclusion of music-making. And yes, dear reader, that is very difficult. But sometimes these chores can only be done in person, the phone just won't do.
I also had a couple of engagements in the city, one a puppet show, without puppets, but with hands. And people dressed in black. And a live music ensemble. 'Argus', by the Dead Puppets Society, accompanied by marvellous contemporary music ensemble, Topology (who have appeared on these pages previously, in the Whale Mall, during the Brisbane Festival...).

I then had to force myself to imbibe dessert cocktails and pizzas on behalf of a friend for their belated birthday. One must do what one must do. Nevertheless, it is not hard to do when you can then convince yourself that a perambulation along South Bank would be a good way to walk off some of the dessert, camera in hand. The puppet show include a wheel as part of its set, which of course made me think about our wheel...and the many ways we can see it.

There was also an interesting light falling on the river and skyline...not quite twilight, not quite the bright light of the afternoon.

It is a lovely spot to walk. To shoot. To ponder the days ahead.
