There is a song, sung by an older American country singer, something about 'Blue Skies'. I won't mention him by name, it is one of those true earworms...
There is a wonderful collective effort played out across Brisbane and surrounds which was started by 612ABC presenter Spencer Howson called #612bluesky whereupon #612tweepsters seek out marvellous Brisbane (and surrounds, broadly defined) blue sky 'art pix', include the tag and post pics on twitter. It is a wonderful exercise and great to see everyone's efforts.
There is a 'rule' of sorts for #612bluesky pics: we are showing off Brisbane's spectacular autumn and winter blue skies with just a hint of 'something', 'anything' in the pic...I like to play along from time to time. My building at work offers something like this:
D Block and sunrays |
Sometimes, as you know dear reader, I like to break the rules:
Blue sky, interrupted |
It is easy to be cynical these days but the #612bluesky is just one of our moments where together we look up, at some point in the day, and just take in the beauty of that around us and share it. It is just too easy. Thank you and bravo Mr Howson.
