It is festival time again, in Brisbane...again. It does seem Brisbane is in permanent festival mode. Music festivals, writers festivals, festival festivals...
Tonight the town launched into the Brisbane Festival, intersecting neatly with the Writers Festival. It was the latter where I found myself at a function with the Australian Book Review, a magazine I've read and supported for many years. A dash down the highway after work to reach South Bank in time for a 6.15pm start, right under the wheel, was necessary. And it was spectacular. And the function was quite lovely too.
The Wheel (one of our favourite South Bank subjects...thanks to the inspirational work by fellow pixster Shelley Lloyd) made itself the centrepiece tonight.

Aah, 'ours'... |
From a distance |
Squiggly wheel |
At another distance... |
Tree with wheel |

Reflected wheel... |
At this rate, it is really starting to take on the Story Bridge as a place to see and be and capture. And there will be many more adventures to South Bank over the next few weeks. But wait...we rarely get a week without South Bank.
Bring on the Festival. (And the excellent gluten-free donuts I simply had to try, for research purposes.)
