Day 255: ...a camera by any other name...
...is still a photo. Or something like that. Perhaps my next photographic blog could well be called 'through the looking glass', since via a camera, we are really seeing an image through many looking glasses, or lenses. Or, so I thought this eveing as I looked at the marvellous 2/3-D chalk illustrations of arstists including Jenny McCracken and others, whose work is on display at South Bank at the moment, in a place called 'Arcadia', as part of the Brisbane Festival.
What you see... |
...is not quite what you expect |
Or you could just fly away |
I was there again this evening to watch the wonderful Simone Young conduct the Queensland Symphony Orchestra playing Mahler. Young is one of our very best conductors. It is such a privilege to see her perform.
While waiting to go in, I played around with my new interest in 'long shots sans tripod'-effect, seeing what the steadying surface will show.
Treasury, right down the line. (Outside QPAC) |
There is more BrisFest just waiting to be watched, observed, eaten and enjoyed. 'Arcadia', quite appropriate to be looking through a looking glass really.
