Yesterday was a short diversion to the Story Bridge. There were pictures of small waves (actually, boat wash) along the river bank. Today there was a plan to go and visit my mum on the Gold Coast. Check.
The plan was to have lunch. Check.
There was a plan to buy a new suitcase. Check.
There was a plan to check out and buy a ticket in the RSL art union. Check.
There was a plan to go and see the Swell sea and sand sculptures. Bing Bong. Failed. Too many cars, too many people etc and so forth. I planned to take too many photos of the many interesting sculptures. Bing Bong. Failed. Oh well. (Perhaps I have done you a favour, dear reader, how many pics do you really need?)
That meant the second small, unplanned diversion in two days. There is a stretch of the Nerang River not far from mum's place so off I went, on the way home.
I thought it might make an interesting comparison: Brisbane River water lapping at the shore, versus Nerang River water, lapping at the shore.

A diversion, not planned. Different but the same, sort of. Oh well. That kind of day.
Oh yes, we now have a new prime minister. Malcolm Turnbull. There you go. That kind of day.
