In recent years, mum has taken an interest in cultivating her own bonsai, as well as growing them. Perfect opportunity to take her along to one of my favourite little townships, the Bonsai Village, just a couple of train rides up the track.
It wasn't the best weather (though not as bad as yesterday) and photos are limited to just a small selection at the bonsai art museum but it is worth the trip every time.
This time there was the added bonus of an exhibition by the bonsai master I met last December, including his magnificent bougainvillea specimen. Worth the trip for that alone.
And I love watching the reaction when someone finds inspiration in the small things.
