Mothers Day. That means getting down to the Coast at a reasonable hour. Mum has set some pretty good ground rules for the day given the outrageous commercialisation of the event. We are only allowed to bring flowers (usually chrysanthemums) and take her out for brunch or lunch or dinner (there are three out of four of us locally...depends on what time of the day for who does what...). Makes for a nice day.
Mum opted for a new Japanese restaurant down the road and it was a good choice. A keen group of young staffers, well-presented and reasonably priced. Japanese/Korean with just a touch of modern...
Dessert, a green tea ice cream in mochi rice cake was pretty as a picture...it was part of a special Mothers Day lunch. Actually the rest of it too was quite photogenic, but we ate it all...
