Day 169 2016: A touch of the blues...

Day 169: ...to replace the greys...

Funny language English. Its meanings, its inferences. Today's 'blue' is actually quite a vital and joyous blue...blue sky, blue water...and yet, until I wrote the title, the 'other' meaning of blue hadn't occurred to me...to be sad, down in the dumps (??, try explaining that in another language), bit like being grey. Unless we are talking shades of grey as opposed to black and white which, in politics, is what my job is all about.

(As for that other horrid corruption of Shades of Grey, we just shan't go there...)

Not blue, today's notable bus stop flower
So really, it wasn't in any sort of melancholy way that today's pics stood out. Quite the opposite actually. After a few rainy grey days, we're heading for summer proper in these parts and  that means pretty unbearable humidity...

That building, again

Water, blue as

Blue on blue tugging bluey

There be humidified clouds in the distance

...in just about anywhere else in Tokyo except by the bay, where I'll look forward to the blue and the breezes as summer comes along.
