A little bit of rain to start the day. Not great for commuting (just the bit between bus stops, train stations and the office, the sitting on the train is not so bad), but always a good chance to get some petals and raindrops, just a couple of the few of my favourite things...

In the late afternoon, it was back to Akasaka, via Parliament House, this time to sit in on a seminar about Japan's constitution, its peace article 9 and talk of amendments. Very though-provoking although the speaker, a constitution expert was in favour of change, while I would rather see the article left as it is. Peace.

As I walked back to the train station, back past the Prime Minister's residence, the offices of the parliamentarians, the Parliament, it struck me how much security has increased, in the thirty years or so I've been in and around this district. Barriers, trucks, vans, armed police...was once much freer...
How things change.
