Well, we're back but you probably ne'er doubted that dear reader. Hello and welcome to 2018 where I hope all the good outweighs the bad this year. As a political scientist and educator, (or, as the alternative spelling just threw up: obscurantist, though I hope not...) one feels an enormous responsibility towards solving the world's problems. On a smaller, micro-level, one hopes the pics and words via this blog, on a daily basis, go someway towards adding something a little brighter, a little more hopeful. (There's always the other blog for tackling those bigger questions.)
So here, on day one of the new year, we didn't get very far. About as far as the pool in the front yard in fact. For it was that kind of day.

Three in a row |
Reflecting |
Weathered contemplation |
Looking up, looking down |
A few more clouds than yesterday, a few more drops of rain than yesterday, to finish out the evening. But time enough to float and swim and watch the world from poolside and think about all that is to come over the next 365 days.
Thanks for coming back.
