Whereas 1 July is the beginning of the new financial year in Australia, here in Japan, that is 1 April...yes. The start of the seventh month here doesn't really mark anything other than the second half of the year (although it is the official start of the swimming season).
So after a day at a work-enriching (let's call it) seminar yesterday, there was just one thing to do today...head to the office to keep working on a paper due soon. Ironically, it is that surfing paper, so I'm in the office writing about something I should be actually out doing except that as noted above, the beginning of the swimming season means surfboards are banned on beaches between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm...
