Stepping up to this senior role in the university brings with it new duties that, a a member of the rank and file would normally pass you by.
Today was the anniversary of the death of the University's founder and, having observed his passing through various events for the past week, today we had to attend a graveside commemoration. All very interesting. All very Buddhist.

The commemoration was held at one of Tokyo's older and well-known, I guess we'd call it a cemetery (though a bit different) , and you just know that at another time, it would be intriguing to walk through noting all the notables interred here. But that's for another day.
