Yes, true, temperatures of three degrees are not the sort of temperatures that have you leaping out of bed early on especially when tweepster friends are on the radio planning to take a dip in the South Bank pool (an event my friend Susan captured perfectly well thank you).
In fact, it was the silhouette of a kookaburra in the gum tree that got me up and at it...as the beautiful colours of the morning broke behind it. Ah, what a shot, I thought. (This is how, sadly, this #project365 gig eventually takes over all your faculties.)
But, between grabbing the cam and getting outside, the noisy miners had performed their early morning raid and the kooka was no longer sitting in the old gum tree. It had gone. Just like that.
But the colours of the dawn were certainly worth a capture.
The kooka *was* here... |

Sadly, the rest of the day didn't quite live up to this beautiful start, but it was there, even momentarily. Well worth it.
