Day 287 2016: It was like waking up...

Day 287: ...on the set of a certain director

Now I don't like to work with cliches, all that often, unless absolutely required, and appropriate ... as you well know, dear reader. It just wouldn't be right.

But this morning, looking out the window...

Here they come...

...well, what would you think? Particularly after not seeing many birds for quite a while.

And they stayed around for long enough to get a few views.

Here

Gathering

Conferring

...and (thunder)birds are go

Watching

Noticing

Listen!

Observing the passing parade

And just to confirm the arrival of autumn (just in case the top temperature of 17 deg wasn't suggestion enough)...this morning's bus stop featured a rather laid-back dragonfly.

Settled

Laid-back, no worries
Perhaps it was the cold; perhaps it was the wires; perhaps it was the grey. Perhaps, even, it was the birds themselves that gave the morning that Hitchcockian moment? I'm not sure, but as soon as they'd arrived in the flock, they'd gone again. A most interesting, and, as it happens, unsurpassed photographic moment for the day (if you don't count the dragonfly...which I liked, but I don't think Hitchcock did dragonflies).
