And so today, (well, this evening to be honest) the last report was marked, the final grade determined, the data recorded and the send button struck. End. of. semester. Finally.
Now, the non-teaching time begins. Although, 'non-teaching' is a bit of a misnomer, Every article we search, every book we read, every parade we observe leads to teaching something in a class somewhere down the track, whether by analysis or anecdote.
By 'non-teaching', we really mean there are no classes between now and the beginning of the new term in September, about seven weeks from now.
That should give me plenty of time to read, write, prepare grant applications, send off a couple of article manuscripts, catch up on research in the library...
Luckily, the port wasn't terribly distracting today as I worked through the last of those 73 reports of varying quality telling me all they'd learnt (or not) about opinion polling...
Bit grey out there |
Work never ends |
Bridge fades to grey |
Speeding away (top marks) |
A bit of push and pull (lower down the marking scale) |
Scraping through |
Meanwhile, I'll be finding other trains to catch and paths to walk and places to visit this next week. Might even rest, a bit.
