Day 178/365: Here we are again...

...another moon, another month

Funny how you can be working away, minding your own business, observing the pigeons, the passing traffic and then...boom, up it comes, up and over the horizon.

I am, like a lot of friends in the photography world, just a little intrigued by the moon as photographic subject. I've been known to scale great heights (well, OK, as high as Mt Gravatt lookout) stand in the backyard for ages getting attacked by mosquitoes, stalk the streets with a tripod, all in th name of a classic lunar pic. Amongst a certain cohort, we are lunar-pics.

And after a rather ordinary day, photographically-speaking, it was a small thrill to watch the not-quite-full moon pop up and over the bridge over the bay this evening, from ten floors up...

Morning square

Returning from whale watch (?)

Somewhere, out there

Another whale watcher (?)

Up and over...

Fly me to the moon

Craning for attention

Looks like a busy couple of lunar-piccing days coming up.

PS: We've also been on whale-wath these last few days. A humpback whale has been spotted frolicking around the Bay and I've been keeping one eye on the Bay, for research purposes of course.
