Day 258 2016: Calmness and light...

Day 258: ...with moments of industry

The time to worry has past. Classes start at the end of this week and as usual, one is as prepared as one can possibly be and yet, such is the nature of teaching contemporary politics and international relations...who knows what might happen by the time Friday comes around.

Today was a long day devoted to interviewing and assessing students who have returned from a month-long overseas internship. There were some periods of intense focus and listening, and times in-between interviews with just not quite enough time to do anything of substance, except read and perhaps think, and perhaps, jot a few more notes for Friday's class.

It is days like this that the apparent calm of the water in the port catches my eye from time to time...

...with moments of industry. Quite the metaphor for the day.
