Today is the day of the special lecture, the one that caused all the confusion and class cancellations earlier this week. It is also the day Australian PM Turnbull made a lightning visit to Tokyo to meet with PM Abe, who himself had just returned from a week or so in Europe.
This is my day job--watching what goes on in the Australia-Japan relationship, watching, thinking, how to improve things and so on. Articles to write, papers to read, interviews to give...all alongside my regular day job, teaching, writing, thinking...and today, an extra class.
